Nigel Hallard makes a preliminary sketch for a painting of his home town harbour of Mousehole near Penzance in Cornwall

Born in 1936, Nigel Hallard first trained as an engineer. However, he has been a respected professional artist since 1967 when he opened his Gallery and Studio in the small picturesque fishing village of Mousehole, near Penzance, in the far south west of Cornwall.

As you can see from this on line gallery, his work ranges from the traditional to modern, depending upon the mood and subject. He has won many prizes at Open Exhibitions and his work is also in great demand from art collectors world wide, being purchased from private galleries, his One Man Exhibitions held in New Zealand, Europe, the Middle East and of course, directly from his own Gallery.

His work is contained in the collections of many leading companies and individuals including International Paints,  Damen Shipyards (Holland) Shell marketing (Oman) the Transport & General Workers Union and the UK’s past Prime Minister John Major.

Elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Art London in 1976, he was also appointed an Acadamician of the South West Acadamy Exeter in 2007. Despite his wide ranging existing work, he is continually searching for new ways to express his view of the many and varied landscapes and subjects that interest him during the course of his extensive international travels.

The complete modernisation of his web site and the introduction of the on line gallery for the sale of his fine art Giclee prints is web site was therefore a natural development from this.
